HMRC information sheet P9X (2016-17 Tax codes) for the next tax year is now available. It provides employers with PAYE tax code information, including how to find out which PAYE tax codes to change; how to change them; and which codes to carry forward ready for the new tax year.
For 2016–17 the basic personal allowance will be £11,000 and the basic rate limit will be £32,000. The PAYE threshold for 2016–17 will be £212 per week, or £917 per month.
The employee primary threshold for Class 1 NICs will be £155 per week, £672 per month, or £8,060 a year. The secondary employer threshold will be £156 per week, £676 per month, or £8,112 per year.
