Auto-Enrolment Update October 2017



Auto enrolment means that every employer with at least one member of staff has duties that include enrolling those who are eligible into a workplace pension scheme and contributing towards it.

It is called ‘automatic enrolment’ because it is automatic for staff – they don’t have to do anything to be enrolled into a pension scheme, but it is not automatic for employers.

Auto enrolment responsibilities are initiated when a PAYE scheme is set up. Ever since the legislation came in to force staging dates have been based on when the PAYE scheme was set up and size of employer. At V J Hancock & Co. Limited we have been monitoring all clients staging dates and contacting you regarding the action you need to take. We have been doing this three months ahead of staging dates to ensure there is plenty of time.

However, the big change is as from October 2017 employers will have automatic enrolment responsibilities from the first day they employ someone.

To make sure you comply with these responsibilities it is essential you talk to us as soon as you know you are going to employ any staff so that they can be assessed straight away to meet your duties.

We offer a full auto enrolment service for £295 plus VAT for up to 5 employees.

This includes:-

  • completing the relevant paperwork
  • inputting all details to True Potential (the scheme provider)
  • getting the scheme up and running and providing training
  • completing your Declaration of Compliance as required by the Pensions Regulator

If however you are a Director only company with no other employees you can be removed from Auto Enrolment responsibilities and we make a one off charge for this of £195 + VAT
